Stats & Highlights | Spurs and Thunder revive, Suns lose

End of bad series for the Spurs and the Thunder. The first remained on five defeats in a row and they dominated the still diminished Bucks. The latter accumulated four losses in a row and they beat the Raptors.

For his part, Orlando finally manages to start a (small) series with a second victory in a row. Without Paolo Banchero, the Magic won against the unimaginative Suns.

Boston–Denver
New York–Detroit
Memphis–Minnesota
Golden State–Cleveland
LA Lakers–Sacramento

Orlando–Phoenix: 114-97

Still without Chris Paul and with an unsuccessful Devin Booker, the Suns struggled to score points. 3-point shots weren’t falling in and Orlando took off.

Cameron Payne and Devin Booker will allow to resist some time but the Magic, however deprived of Paolo Banchero, will keep control. Terrence Ross puts the final touch in the last quarter with 12 points and the Floridians chain a second success in a row. For the first time this season.

Oklahoma City–Toronto: 132-113

The Raptors are as erratic as ever, and Oklahoma City is taking advantage of that. Toronto did not defend the game and even with a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at only 20 points, the Thunder could dominate this meeting.

The effort was collective and an astonishing Eugene Omoruyi (a “two-way contract”) finished top scorer with 22 points. The gap was already made at the break and Nick Nurse’s troops never reacted in the second half. The Thunder thus stops a series of four defeats in a row.

San Antonio–Milwaukee: 111-93

Once again, the Bucks evolved without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday. So it was a golden opportunity for Spurs to win and break a bad streak. Gregg Popovich’s men did not miss this meeting.

Solid in defense and opportunistic in counterattack, they passed Milwaukee in many areas and took the lead in the second half. Keldon Johnson drove the point home in the last quarter and the Spurs won without shaking.
