Stats & Highlights | Nets and Clippers snap losing streak

End of (bad) series for the Clippers and the Nets. The former beat the Rockets on the wire, with a decisive Paul George, when the latter took their revenge on the Pacers, with a good Kevin Durant.

Both franchises were on four straight losses, so these wins feel good. Another success that gives a smile: that of the Kings, who go on to Charlotte after opening their counter against the Heat.

Washington–Philadelphia
Toronto–Atlanta
Milwaukee–Detroit
Utah–Memphis

Charlotte–Sacramento: 108-115

The Kings were badly embarked with a struggling defense in the first period. The Hornets had no trouble scoring and they were shooting at 60% success, with a 15-point lead at halftime. After the break, Mike Brown’s troops pull themselves together.

They defend better, steal balls and leave only crumbs for free throws. So they come back in the game and in the last act, Kevin Huerter and Davion Mitchell make the difference. Especially Mitchell who scored two straight baskets in the last minute to give Sacramento the victory. The second in a row.

Brooklyn–Indiana: 116-109

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving still scored a lot (64 points between them), but this time the Nets won. Much more concerned in defense, despite the absence of Ben Simmons, the Brooklyn players imposed their game from the first quarter, winning by fifteen points.

Then, Indiana will come back with a very good Chris Duarte in particular. In the last quarter, Steve Nash’s troops still have the controls, but the Pacers pass a 15-8 to equalize. Brooklyn has the answer, with Durant. End of series for Indiana, which remained on two successes in a row.

LA Clippers–Houston: 95-93

As against the Suns the day before, the Rockets can have regrets. Those of not having known how to negotiate the “money time”. Before that, the Clippers, deprived of Kawhi Leonard and John Wall, had struck first. Then, still fragile, the Los Angeles players lost in the next two quarters.

Kenyon Martin Jr. notably carried Houston, with Tari Eason, to pass in front at that time. Paul George will have the last word, by equalizing and scoring the winning basket, all in 40 seconds. Last in the league, the Rockets remain on four losses in a row.
