Real interest from the Knicks in Dejounte Murray?

After Hoopshype, it's the turn of SNY to report the Knicks' interest in the arrival of Dejounte Murray. Extended at a high price this summer by the Hawks, Murray would be in the sights of the Knicks who are looking to improve their defensive sector. For the moment, the Hawks leader is non-transferable, and New York management will have to wait until January 9 to possibly begin discussions with Atlanta.

To convince their counterparts, the Knicks leaders could offer them Immanuel Quickley, not extended last summer, and protected free agent next July. Maybe Evan Fournier will also be included in the package…

A conflict between agents?

Regardless, SNY points out that there is one major obstacle: Murray's agent is none other than Rich Paul, and he doesn't like working with the Knicks. Boss of Klutch Sports, Paul is on bad terms with Leon Rose and Williams Wesley, who worked in the CAA agency before joining the Knicks. According to SNY, Rich Paul will only contact the Knicks if Murray wants to join them.

As plan B, the Knicks still have their sights set on OG Anunoby, who left Klutch Sports this summer. The Raptors winger has been in their sights for a year, and last season, contacts had already been made. At the time, New York apparently offered RJ Barrett. Maybe the Raptors will be more inclined to talk after having just missed their start to the season.
