On his own podcast, Paul George expressed his satisfaction at having seen Russell Westbrook extend the Clippers adventure for next season.

“ We get Russ back at the minimum wage? It’s a flight ! », did he throw. “It’s funny, because while I was talking to him, I knew what we could offer him, and so it was a strange moment. So while we were texting, I just asked him to keep us anyway as an option, basically we would really like to see him come back. But I thought there was no way he would come back. And he said to me, ‘I’m trying to come back. I thought to myself, wait, what? (laughs)”.
Paul George was an early supporter of Russell Westbrook’s arrival at the Clippers. After spending two seasons in Oklahoma City, from 2017 to 2019, he knew what he could bring to the Clippers and was not disappointed with the impact he had over the last three months of competition. .
“It’s great, I’m happy to see Russ’ back, he means a lot to the team. During his short stay, he changed the whole identity of the team, with this ability to be able to do everything. He’s one of those rare people in the league who is all the time, who never gives up. And to have him for $4 million is a huge steal, and at the same time it says a lot about who he is. He could have taken another contract and made 10-12 million, but he found us”.
We don’t really know what Russell Westbrook could have gotten elsewhere, and therefore refused to stay at the Clippers, but for Paul George, the advantage with “Brodie” is that we know what we have when he is there.
