Multiplying driving offenses, James Bouknight worries

James Bouknight was hoping to start this season after a first year in the NBA during which he believes he did not have a chance. His first stunt unfortunately had nothing to do with the ball in hand.

The details of his arrest over the weekend for drunk driving recount an epic response from Charlotte Mecklenburg County police.

We thus learn that the officers, who found the player unconscious in his car, a weapon in his hand, blocking traffic in a Charlotte parking lot, would have spent more than an hour trying to wake James Bouknight, with blows of fog horn, light flashes and other noises supposed to wake up the most drowsy.

Finally awake, James Bouknight allegedly refused to get out of the vehicle, taking long minutes to emerge before eating in his car, crashing into police cars front and back, before complying…

Four legal summonses to honor in court…

The breathalyzer confirmed the player’s advanced state of intoxication. But this new gap reminds us that James Bouknight is not at his first attempt, since he now has four court summonses for similar cases!

James Bouknight’s court tour will therefore begin on November 10 for this latest arrest. He will return there on November 29 for “speeding and dangerous driving”, on December 6, again for “speeding and dangerous driving”, and finally on December 13 for “dangerous and reckless driving”.

Narrowly qualified to participate in the Hornets’ first game of the season in San Antonio, he apologized before the game.

“I just wanted to apologize for being a distraction before the start of the season for my teammates and what we have ahead of us. I’m trying to learn from it, to be able to stay strong, move on and keep growing.”, did he declarewhile this accumulation of offenses is necessarily worrying.

He also thanked Steve Clifford for his support during this new ordeal, the new coach of the Hornets having recently praised the qualities of the sophomore rear.

“Cliff has been there for me every step of the way since he arrived. Having a coach who truly believes in you and invests in helping you and making you better means everything to me”.
