After having successively been a scout in the staff of Steve Kerr, assistant GM, then vice-president of Warriorsbehold Mike Dunleavy Jr. quietly continues to take the lead within the Californian franchise, because it becomes the new General Manager of Golden State.
An expected appointment, since the 42-year-old former player was the favorite to take over from Bob Myers, who decided not to return to the “Dubs” despite a good period (four titles and two Finals between 2015 and 2022).
Mike Dunleavy Jr. will therefore have a lot to do in replacing one of the best leaders of the last decade.
His first two thorny files? Finding common ground with Draymond Green, probably a free agent in July, and Klay Thompson, who could be extended this summer one year from the end of his contract…
