Mike Conley out for the next two weeks?

The action is strange but did not bode well. In defense on Damian Lillard on Saturday night in the meeting between the Blazers and the Jazz, Mike Conley twisted his knee while taking a position to avoid the screen posed by Jusuf Nurkic. The leader then remained on the ground, his knee having visibly turned a little.

“I wanted to take a step, and for some reason on that step my leg completely locked up and all of my weight went straight into my knee. At first, I didn’t know what had happened. At the time, I had the impression that it was going to be worse than expected,” he said after the game.

The verdict therefore fell last night. If he does not suffer from a major injury or particular damage to the ligaments, Mike Conley will still have to recover from a knee sprain. The Athletic announces that it will take him away from the courts for at least two weeks, when ESPN is less affirmative and explains that the leader will be assessed “on a daily basis”. However, it remains a blow for the Salt Lake City franchise, which relies heavily on its veteran. In particular his new coach, Will Hardy, with whom he is very close.

In an interview published this weekend on NBA.comhe even claimed to feel in great shape, boosted by the current context in Utah.

” I feel very good. It’s funny because I haven’t felt anything since my hamstring injury two years ago. But it’s the thing that comes back most often to me: my health. I was healthy for two years. This injury only happened once. But this image stuck with me. I feel good. Young people allow me to stay in shape. They make me work every day. I take advantage of it »he said.
