Luke Walton remains JB Bickerstaff's right-hand man in Detroit

Pushed out by the Horsemen, JB Bickerstaff quickly bounced back with the Pistons, who quickly turned the page on Monty Williams to welcome the former Ohio technician, hoping that he would revive them to the top.

For this, he recovers Luke Waltonwho was already his right-hand man in Cleveland during the last two seasons.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports: that the son of Bill, head coach of the Lakers and then the Kings, agreed to become JB Bickerstaff's first assistant on the staff of the Michigan franchise.

It must be said that the two men have known each other for a very long time, and are extremely close.

“That’s one of the main reasons I took this job, to have that relationship and be able to coach with someone I really respect and enjoy spending time with.” This is what Luke Walton explained when he joined JB Bickerstaff at the Cavaliers in 2022. “When I was playing in the NBA, JB used to come to San Diego to work out with me and a bunch of my teammates during the offseason. He would come down for two weeks every summer, we would go to the local gym in San Diego, and he would work us out. We’ve been really good friends ever since. I’m glad I had the opportunity to work with him.”
