Lakers extend sports boss Rob Pelinka

The offseason was shaping up to be eventful for the Lakers after a disastrous 2021/22 fiscal year. However, despite a complicated situation, Russell Westbrook is still there and LeBron James even extended.

Darvin Ham took over from Frank Vogel and the “front office” simply made a few changes, such as the arrivals of Dennis Schroder, Pat Beverley, Thomas Bryant and even Lonnie Walker IV. Now it’s up to all these beautiful people to give color to the “Purple & Gold”.

Waiting for the verdict from the field, the Lakers have in any case reached an agreement to extend Rob Pelinkaan emblematic figure of the City of Angels, first as an agent for Kobe Bryant before becoming GM in 2017 and then vice-president of basketball operations in Los Angeles in 2020.

The manager has signed up for three more years, and his contract now runs until 2026, the same duration as that of Darvin Ham. Quite a mark of confidence from Jeanie Buss, the owner, while Rob Pelinka’s record at the head of the club ultimately remains mixed, despite the flashy arrivals of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, and the title obtained in 2020 in the “bubble”.
