The Dominican Republic will honor this summer its fourth appearance in the World Cup, and the third consecutive since 2014. During the 2014 edition in Spain, the Dominicans came out of the group stage before losing in the round of 16 against Slovenia. In 2019 in China, they had surprised Germany to qualify in the second round, however failing to reach the quarter-finals.
The potential return of Karl-Anthony Towns would logically increase the ambitions of this modest selection, especially if Al Horford, who has not worn the national team jersey since 2012, decides to join him.
