Injured, Joel Embiid will miss the reunion with Ben Simmons

He had warned that it was that a match like any other on the calendar” , and finally, Joel Embiid will miss the reception of the Nets on Tuesday evening, and therefore the reunion with Ben Simmons. According to the press release published by the Sixers, the Cameroonian pivot is suffering from a sprained left midfoot, and he will be absent for the back-to-back against the Nets and the Hornets.

Embiid was stupidly injured against Wolves since it was his teammate George Niang, on a counter-attack, who landed on his foot. The Sixers say the injury will be reviewed again after those two games, and perhaps Embiid’s unavailability could be extended.

About this meeting which marks the great return of Simmons to Philadelphia, one wonders what the five of the Sixers will look like since Doc Rivers must already do without James Harden and Tyrese Maxey, and undoubtedly Tobias Harris.
