In Houston, the Mavericks win a 7th victory in a row

The first quarter is marked by the weak marksmanship of the two teams: 44% for Houston and 35% for Dallas. But it is the much more collectively involved Rockets who will take the lead at the end of it (26-18). The Mavericks can count on Tim Hardaway Jr’s 11 points to stay in touch.

The second quarter is clearly dominated by the Rockets in the wake of an Eric Gordon of the big nights (14 points at halftime) but also Kevin Porter Jr, author of 15 points at the break and the buzzer of the 2nd quarter to allow his team to return to the locker room with a good advantage (55-44). Opposite, the Mavs cannot count on Luka Doncic who is unrecognizable (3/12 shooting).

The Slovenian prodigy will wake up after returning from the locker room by scoring 19 points in the 3rd quarter. An awakening which will obviously coincide with the return of the Mavs to the game. Supported by Tim Hardaway Jr and Christian Wood, he will bring Dallas back to just 4 small points from the Rockets at the end of the 3rd quarter (87-83).

The 4th Quarter is tight, the two teams go blow for blow until the end but it is Dallas with experience who will win at the finish in this Texas derby 111-106.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

7 in a row for Dallas. Even if it’s still hard, the Mavericks continue to chain victories. Victorious after a sluggish match on the Rockets floor, Luka Doncic’s teammates have a 7th consecutive success.

The beautiful face of the Rockets. Despite the loss, Houston showed a very good face with 91 points from the starting 5 during this game. In front of the score for almost the entire match, they cracked in the last minutes against much stronger Mavs in those moments.

TOPS/FLOPS

Tim Hardaway Jr. If Dallas was still in the game at the break, it’s thanks to him. He makes a more than clean copy: 21 points at 7/13 shooting and 5/11 at 3 points.

Christian Wood. He did not miss his reunion with his former franchise: 21 points at 8/14 shooting and 7 rebounds.

Eric Gordon. A very high level performance which will not leave the contenders indifferent as the trade deadline approaches: 19 points at 7/12 in shooting and 4/6 at 3 points.

Kevin Porter Jr. A full game, he showed his full range: 25 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists.

⛔️ The global 3-point address. 31% for the Rockets and 30.2% for the Mavs.
