His arrival in Sacramento? It’s “destiny” for Donte DiVincenzo | NBA

Transferred by the Bucks at the “trade deadline” last Thursday, Donte DiVincenzo made his debut with the Kings last night, victorious on the floor of the Wizards. Off the bench, the back made a decent match, with 7 points (2/9), 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 interception in 19 minutes.

After the meeting, he was asked about this new chapter in his career which is opening in the Californian capital. Already almost a King during the 2020 offseason, when the Bucks and the Kings agreed on a “sign-and-trade” (aborted) from Bogdan Bogdanovic, he savored his arrival in Sacramento.

When I learned the news of the transfer, I was super happy. It was fate, it had to happen. There is a mutual respect, I wanted to be here and they wanted me too. It’s a great feeling, and it makes you want to go all out and play as hard as you can. Not just for the team, for the whole organization.

The Kings GM, Monte McNair, confirmed for his part that the franchise had wanted to recruit the former Villanova player for several months. ” Donte is definitely a player we’ve been targeting for some time, and we’re excited to finally bring him into our franchise. He has been improving since his return [de blessure], he is starting to make big matches. He is a player who started in the playoffs, with a team that became champions. So we know what he brings to the field.

We’re excited to have him here, finally in a Kings uniform. he concluded, recalling that the franchise had been trying to attract him to California for more than a year.
