Greece will be able to count on Giannis Antetokounmpo for its TQO

The Greek coach, Vassilis Spanoulis, announced that “yes, Giannis would be present in the national team” this summer. A week after this declaration, it was confirmed with the presence of Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Greece group for the Olympic qualifying tournament (TQO).

The Bucks star is one of the 18 players calledincluding his brother Kostas Antetokounmpo, who has just won the Euroleague with Panathinaikos, and Nick Calathes.

Good news for the Hellenes, deprived of Giannis Antetokounmpo last summer, for the World Cup. The Milwaukee interior will have sufficiently recovered from his calf injury contracted at the end of the regular season and which blocked the NBA champion and MVP of the 2021 Finals on the bench for the entirety of the first round of the playoffs against the Pacers.

Greece will try to snatch its ticket for the Paris Olympic Games at home in Athens between July 2 and 7. To do this, we will have to emerge victorious in a tournament against the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Slovenia of Luka Doncic (who intends to be there after playing in the Finals), Croatia and New Zealand.
