Despite Janelle Salaün (16 points), the Valkyries fall in Las Vegas

After his setback against the mystics last Thursday, the Aces received the Golden State Valkyries. A meeting that marked the return ofA'ja Wilson who was not in clothes against Washington because of a wrist injuryoccurred during the duel against Liberty earlier in the week.

On the side of the Valkyries, the Frenchwoman Janelle Salaün found the starting five and it was she who scored the first points of Golden State. However, it is the Aces that take control of the match behind a perfect 3/3 at A'ja Wilson to start the meeting (11-4). The answer for Golden State comes from two consecutive 3-point shots from Tiffany Hayes then two successful free throws of Kayla Thornton (12-11).

At the end of the first ten minutes, Las Vegas leads 23-21 thanks to the 13 points of A'ja Wilson. If the Valkyries quickly regain control of the game, the reigning MVP continues its site during the second quarter where it scored seven points in a row to allow the Aces to pick up the score (34-32), but its team is carried out 46-45 when reaching the locker room.

A'ja Wilson finished this first half with 25 points at 10/12 shooting, which displeases the Natalie Nakase Valkyries coach.

“I yell at them to do something, but they seem to be elsewhere”, gets carried away by Golden State coach at halftime. “I'm going to put their suspenders back in the locker room, hoping that it changes something.”

Jackie Young folds the match

After the break, Golden State manages to contain the double WNBA champion, but these are two other players who wear Las Vegas: Jackie Young And Jewell Loyd. The latter scored a 3-point shot to put the Aces in front (53-52). Then, the Becky Hammon players took seven points ahead (70-63), their biggest gap in the match at that time.

To calm the emerging fire, Carla Leite Leaves his box by scoring six points in a row, but the Valkyries fail to carry out the defensive stops necessary to return to the score.

It is therefore with an advance of four points (76-72) that Las Vegas begins the last act. In the middle of this fourth quarter, Chelsea Gray Enrolls a 3-point shot to give nine lengths ahead of the ACES (90-81), but Golden State is not killed and returns equally thanks to a basket with the fault of Veronica Burton (94-94).

However, 90 seconds from the term, Jackie Young decides to take the match on her own. At first, she scored four points in a row then she will convert six consecutive free throws to annihilate all the hopes of victory of Golden State.

Thus, Las Vegas reconnects with the victory by dominating the Valkyries (104-102) behind the 34 points and 16 assists of A'ja Wilson, but also the 30 units of Jackie Young.

On the French side, Janelle Salaün ends up with 16 points, it is the best marker of Golden State with Tiffany Hayes while Carla Leite scored 6 in fifteen minutes of play.
