The dynamics are opposed between a team from Chicago which has just chained five defeats, and a team from Detroit which remains on three victories. However, it is the visitors who are off to the best start, with an aggressive Zach LaVine towards the circle and a DeMar DeRozan who is already starting to find his “spots”.
But Cade Cunningham begins to get rid of pressure from Ayo Dosunmu and the Pistons quickly pick up.
The Bulls seem in a false rhythm while the collective effort of the men of Dwane Casey poses a problem for those of Billy Donovan. Even if the two teams do not leave each other, it is indeed Detroit which spends the majority of the match in the lead, and which finds itself at +7 (99-92) 9 minutes from the end of the meeting.

He may not be the rookie of the year but when Dwane Casey explains that he is in terms of talent, it’s probably because the former Oklahoma State is the only rookie who can take charge of his team’s attack at this point. This bodes well for the future of the Pistons.
– Chicago’s decisive 17-2. While Detroit was at +7 in the last quarter, the Bulls managed to overturn the game against a 17-2 which increased the score from 99-92 to 101-109. This is the moment of changeover of the meeting, carried by the good defense of Chicago and the inability of Detroit to return baskets. What offer rhythm to the players of Illinois, who made their young opponents pay by playing quickly to score on counter-attack or obtain free throws. Before DeMar DeRozan attacked Cade Cunningham twice to register two shots from mid-range as icing on the cake.
TOPS/FLOPS
✅ DeMar DeRozan. The fullback/winger still manages to find his mid-range “spots” and he did it again when Chicago needed him the most. He scored 16 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter to help the Bulls break their losing streak.
✅ Kelly Olynyk and Hamidou Diallo. The two substitutes did good in Detroit, the first by playing the role of piston in the attack of the Pistons, the second by multiplying the athletic actions.
⛔ Saddiq Bey. Both teams were clumsy from 3-pointers (3/15 for Chicago, 11/31 for Detroit) but it was Saddiq Bey’s clumsiness that arguably had the most influence on the game. Rodney McGruder has compensated time, but it was insufficient while the best shooter in Michigan was missing (4/12).
