Carried by their “Jay’s”, the Celtics revive and stop the good series of the Nets

Losses at home on Saturday against Miami, after five straight wins, the Celtics started at brooklyn a “road-trip” of six games, to try to immediately return to success.

Mission accomplished (103-92), since the teammates of a very good duo Jaylen Brown (34 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals) – Jayson Tatum (29 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals) sailed quite calmly towards success on the Barclays Center floor (only three changes of leader in the score), thanks to a sober copy in attack (“only” 103 points at 43% to shots).

Serious but not transcendent, long in ambush less than ten units from their opponents, the locals never managed to get close enough to make this match really contested, despite valiant efforts by Kevin Durant (31 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks).

The Nets see their four-game winning streak come to an end.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

Jaylen Brown’s huge heat shot in the first quarter. Usually this season, it is rather Jayson Tatum who starts the matches very strongly. This time, it was the other “Jay” who stole the show, with a very big blow from the first act: 20 points at 6/7 on shots, and in particular an incredible 5/5 behind the bow ! In its tracks, the Celtics did well in their first quarter (35-27), and then sailed rather quietly to victory for the rest of the game.

A saving 14-0 for the Celtics… from the first quarter. It was difficult to predict at the time, but with hindsight once the match is over, it is obvious: the Celtics have definitely changed the game… from the first quarter. Indeed, after having started very badly by conceding an 11-2 entry, the “Jay’s” and their teammates responded quickly after a time-out, with a 14-0 to take control of the score (16-11 ). Score that they then did not let go until the end of the match.

TOPS & FLOPS

Malcolm Brogdon. The Celtics “supersub” was once again superb off the bench: 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists, for a single loss of ball. In the absence of Marcus Smart, he was more mobilized than usual in the wearing of leather, and without problem laid a new copy of an amazing cleanliness.

Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown. The two Boston Princes compiled 62 of the Celtics’ 103 points, adding 21 rebounds and 6 steals. The first was very prominent in the second quarter, taking over from the second boiling hot at the start, and in the last quarter by scoring 4 shots to definitively distance the Nets in ambush. In short, the Celtics won and the “Jay’s” were great. A day like any other for the Massachusetts troop.

Kevin Durant. The only player on his team to exceed 20 points, “KD” struggled during the 40 minutes spent on the floor, finishing with 31 points at 13/24 on shots, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Without his efforts, the Nets would have been left behind much earlier than the second half of the fourth quarter. We can then forgive him for his 8 ball losses…

⛔️ The “supporting cast” of the Nets. Kyrie Irving with 18 points (and 8 rebounds and 5 assists), and Joe Harris with 13 points. Either the only two players, other than Kevin Durant, who have exceeded 10 points. The other players (Nic Claxton, Royce O’Neal and the substitutes) only compile 30 small points, barely more than the Celtics substitutes, who scored 24 points… Impossible to beat the best team in the league under these conditions.
