Bald who can, Alex Caruso is back! | NBA

Alex Caruso had fingers that were starting to itch after a month of inactivity due to the health protocol and physical glitches, hamstrings and foot.

Present in the group to face the Cavs last night, the former Lakers player thus acted like an electric battery on the bench, until Billy Donovan ended up calling his name. “You could see he was looking forward to going out there and playing,” particularly noticed DeMar DeRozan.

Alex Caruso confirms, and his excitement to return to competition almost took over: “I was smiling in the locker room when I put on my jersey and tied my shoes. I haven’t had the outlet of the competition for a month. So I was ready to play. I was ready to go”.

With congratulations from DeMar DeRozan

Once in the field, number 6 was able to let go of the horses. In 23 minutes, he compiled 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 against for a +/- of +18, the best of his team. He thus attracted the praise of DeMar DeRozan who highlighted the importance that his teammate can have within the group.

“Everything he brings, his energy, his presence, his leadership, it’s very important”, added DeMar DeRozan. “There is also his speech in the locker room, or in the tunnel, before we enter the field, or at halftime. It is something we rely on and feed on. So it was great to have him back. With us. It means a lot. We saw it tonight, we were a completely different team. We were aggressive. The wingers feed on his work. And what he generates defensively gives us opportunities in transition. That’s what you saw tonight, and I feel like that’s how we’re better off.”

His comeback was enhanced by a fine victory over the Cavs as the Bulls remained on five losses in six games. Relieved to have returned well, Alex Caruso spoke about his last month away from the pitch, comparing his experience to that experienced by a coach, or a parent of a player!

“Not being with my guys, watching them go through this without being able to iNFLuence them at all, that’s probably the hardest thing about playing a sport, when you’re on a team.”, he explained. “It’s probably like being a coach, or being a parent: watching the people you love play and having no control over them. It’s not a great feeling. It was much better to be there, in the field, with them”.

Papa Caruso is now back, let’s hope his little Bulls will go straight!
