All-Star Game 2022 | Known Team LeBron and Team Durant | NBA

Everything is ready for the All-Star Game 2022, which will be held on Sunday, February 20, in Cleveland. Respective captains of the West and East, LeBron James and Kevin Durant thus composed their workforces in the night, during the now traditional annual “All-Star Draft”, broadcast on TNT, in a good-natured atmosphere.

And Team LeBron and Team Durant will obviously not lack talent or “showmen”.

As a reminder, in addition to LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Ja Morant, Andrew Wiggins and Nikola Jokic have also been named starters in the West, as have Trae Young, DeMar DeRozan, Jayson Tatum (replacing Kevin Durant, package), Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid in the East.

On the one hand, LeBron James could choose first, due to his status as the player with the most fan votes. His choice fell straight away, and like last year, on Giannis Antetokounmpo. To accompany the Greek in his starting five, the “King” then selected, in this order, “ the best shooter in history“, Stephen Curry, ” one of his favorite players“, DeMar DeRozan, then Nikola Jokic.

Note that Antetokounmpo, Curry and Jokic were already in Team LeBron in 2021.

On the other, obviously not in the mood because he was very cold in his answers to questions from commentators, Kevin Durant opted for entry for ” league leading scorer“, Joel Embiid, with whom he had nevertheless sintered this season. Before drafting, in turn, his ” favorite teammate” of the last Olympic Games, Jayson Tatum, then to automatically recover Trae Young and Andrew Wiggins.

The two newcomers, Ja Morant and Andrew Wiggins, will therefore evolve together in Team Durant, while Embiid and Tatum are favored like last year by “KD”.

Kevin Durant snubs James Harden, LeBron James bursts out laughing!

To compose their benches, LeBron James and Kevin Durant then gave priority to the relational, offering us above all a scene as funny as it is hilarious to conclude this Draft.

Before that, and as in 2021, LeBron James first selected Luka Doncic, his ” pet ” Darius Garland (because a member of the Cavaliers, which will allow him to be supported after his two departures from Cleveland), his ” brother Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell, Fred VanVleet and finally… James Harden, chosen last!

As for Kevin Durant, he directly drafted Devin Booker, with whom he also teamed up in Tokyo, before betting on Karl-Anthony Towns, two other gold medalists in Japan, Zach LaVine and Khris Middleton, the neo-All-Stars Dejounte Murray and LaMelo Ball, then our frenchie Rudy Gobert.

Asked before the start of the Draft about the “blockbuster trade” of the evening between the Nets and the Sixers, “KD” therefore left aside his now ex-teammate James Harden until the end! Which certainly brought laughs from LeBron James, who was probably determined (like the rest of us) that the Brooklyn winger would end up in an awkward situation at the very end, having to choose between Harden and another player. (Gobert, in this case).

Impassive, Kevin Durant nevertheless justified himself for about twenty seconds on his decision (which he had not done for any other All-Star before that!). Claiming to need size and interior defense, when he already has Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns in his roster. Hence the selection of Rudy Gobert in place of James Harden…

As for LeBron James, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing behind his captain’s badge, at the sight of this hilarious sequence, which we can only advise you to watch (from 11’40 , below). Especially since Charles Barkley and the commentators of TNT, never the last when it comes to “trolling”, also gave themselves to their heart’s content to swing spades at James Harden, about his physical health…
