Aaron Gordon, simple and effective

Shining in the shadows has been Aaron Gordon’s daily routine since the start of the season. The interior is solid, it does its job, silently but always efficiently. Already interesting against the Wolves in the first round, the former Orlando has passed a milestone against the Suns.

In attack already, where he averages 19.5 points at 67% success, 57% at 3-pts and 87% at free throws.

“He is focused, disciplined, altruistic”notes Michael Malone for the Denver Post. “His efficiency right now, near the circle or at 3-pts, is excellent. More importantly, on free throws, he is relaxed, takes his time and shoots with confidence. I find that these seven playoff games are Aaron Gordon’s most regular in this Nuggets jersey. »

And in defense, Aaron Gordon spares no effort against Kevin Durant. The Suns winger, when he faces inside Denver, only shot 8/20 including 1/5 at 3-pts, with only two shots and five loose balls.

“It’s not about the numbers. He doesn’t stop Durant, nobody does that.”recalls the Nuggets coach. “But he makes it difficult for her. That’s all one can ask for. He doesn’t give her anything easy. »

And when his presence isn’t enough, Aaron Gordon has the support of Bruce Brown. “There are a few possessions from Game 2 that I isolated during the video footage,” continues Mike Malone. “Gordon and Brown are on Durant. I will frame this picture and put it in my house. It’s art. It’s a champion’s defense. »

The former Brooklyn obviously agrees when he talks about his teammate’s level of play.

“He does exactly what is expected of him: put 3-pts and be a dog”, observes Bruce Brown. “When he is like that, we are unbeatable. »
