Yasiel Puig faces five years in prison

Yasiel Puig was in court because in recent years the former outfielder was accused of being part of an illegal betting operation.

He always denied being linked to such an operation, but it was a lie. So he ultimately pleaded guilty to lying to federal agents in the case.

And for that, he faces five years in prison. We do not know if this is the sentence he will get, but in any case, he is in hot water and he is eligible for five years behind bars.

And no, he will officially not return to MLB. We suspected it, but now it’s clear.

Puig allegedly lied that he knew a certain person (key in the investigation) through baseball and not through the gamblingbut hundreds of posts would tend to prove otherwise.

And since it was an illegal operation, he’s in hot water. His first court appearance is expected to be today.

He also agreed to pay a $55,000 fine.

Let’s say that it is ironic to see that bets are now carried out completely legally and that they are even at the heart of the promotion of the sports offer. Speak to Pete Rose, who isn’t in the same boat as Yasiel Puig, but still suffers the backlash of his actions.
