Tyler Glasnow thinks he can launch in 2022

Since coming to Tampa, Tyler Glasnow has been a strong pitcher in the Rays’ starting rotation. He may not be consistently top of the line at his position, but he does a damn good job.

Last year, at the beginning of August, the 28-year-old man went under the knife for a Tommy John-type operation. His season obviously ended at that point.

You know like me how long the rehabilitation of such an operation can be. In the case of Glasnow, the process seems to be going well so far.

According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, the Gunner has already started throwing. He is not about to make a return to the game anytime soon, we agree. But the Rays pitcher isn’t closing the door on a 2022 return.

That’s what he wants, in fact.

Despite himself, Glasnow’s name appeared in a few transaction rumors. I say in spite of himself, because he reiterated the fact that he was happy in Tampa and that he wanted to remain a Rays player.

It’s a known fact that money is a problem in Tampa Bay. It would therefore make sense from the team’s point of view to trade him, who will eventually command a higher salary than the $6 million he will receive in 2022.

It only remains to be seen what the training plan will be with his pitcher, who has the potential to be even more dominant in the future.
