Tim Anderson and the Dodgers: the rumor that won’t die

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been doing well for several weeks. After having been quiet during the winter, they show that they can still dominate.

They were timid in particular to make room (financially speaking) for Shohei Ohtani, which resulted in the club letting Trea Turner go – without making him a contract offer.

The plan was to play Gavin Lux at shortstop, but he got injured in camp. For the moment, it is Miguel Rojas who has the keys to shortstop.

But will the club want to improve along the way? We can think that the leaders of the club will assess the situation.

And if Tim Anderson is available, will the Dodgers call the White Sox? It is very possible to think so.

He earns $12.5 million this year and his club has a $14 million option in 2024.

The possibility has already been raised by Ken Rosenthal recentlybut one wonders if it will still be on the table this summer.

The same Rosenthal came back to talk about it recently at Foul Territory and there are a few reasons that lead him to believe that it might not necessarily happen.

First, the White Sox are on the mend (especially with Liam Hendriks) and they are playing in an easy-to-win division. If Anderson, who was injured earlier this year, can help them win, he’ll stay in town.

The fact that owner Jerry Reinsdorf is elderly could also encourage him not to ask his employees for a reconstruction.

At the Dodgers, I also have the feeling that if the club wants to improve, it will be within the rotation, which is currently decimated. This is the priority.

In addition, the leading minds of Los Angeles place a lot of importance on two aspects: defense and batting patience.

These are not strengths of Tim Anderson.

I have the feeling that he will not finish the season in Los Angeles, but we agree that on paper, it is a personnel movement that is credible.
