The A’s explore other possibilities in Las Vegas

The Oakland A’s saga is far from over.

After the California outfit announced a deal to purchase 49 acres of land west of the Strip in Las Vegas three weeks ago, they’ve reconnected with various landowners. at several Vegas-area locations that were previously under investigation.

According to Howard Stutz and Tabitha Mueller of the Nevada Independent, Athletics executives are exploring alternatives as a back-up plan, despite the preferred site still appearing to be the organization’s top priority.

It’s that the A’s are worried about not getting legislative approval for their stadium plan at the current site. In fact, they haven’t even submitted a formal proposal for consideration yet.

A state senator has no idea what the A’s want.

We haven’t gotten anything concrete yet of what exactly they’re looking for, or what they’d like us to look into. So it’s hard to have conversations about what exactly we can or can’t do, and time here is limited. We only have a few weeks left, so if there is going to be a deal, it has to happen very soon.

Even if an extraordinary session can be ordered, the date of June 5 seems to be the limit.

The plan would be to build a 35,000-seat baseball stadium, a plan that would involve an investment of one billion dollars.

This file is managed as the team has been for several years…
