Pete Alonso thought was to touch the jackpot last winter, on the autonomy market. It did not happen.
Instead, he was forced to take a short contract with the dishes. We are talking about a two -year -old agreement with an exit option at the end of the 2025 season. He should use it, if all is well.
Alonso is happy to be in New York and to be 20 circuits from the Darryl Strawberry franchise record. He is happy to be with his heart club and with good training.
But don't get off: he's hungry.
In an article, Jon Heyman reported that The first goal player is perceived, in New York, as a guy on a mission. He wants to do everything to have a happy new year and have a second chance on the autonomy market … But this time, in a position of strength.
This is (in particular) what drive. He also wants to win, of course.
Seeing the Vladimir Guerrero Jr. contract at $ 35.7 million per year in Toronto, he has a clearer goal of what he could aim, in a few months, when he will use his outing option.
Unless a disaster, he will use it.
The question, however, will be whether Alonso will have a good offer of dishes, his choice #1. Does David Stearns, who does not want to empty the bank for a first goal player who is getting older, submitted him with a good offer?
Otherwise, his agent Scott Boras will no doubt advise him to go where the money will lead him.
