Match #3: Anthony Santander to bat fourth

Tonight, the Blue Jays are on the side of Seattle to play game #3 of the Championship Series in the American. Trailing 0-2 in the series, John Schneider's men will have to win this evening if they do not wish to face elimination tomorrow.

The club will need a big outing from Shane Bieber, the starter of the day.

But above all, the Jays will need their offense to wake up. After having broken everything during the series against the Yankees, it was much more difficult against the Mariners, while the club only scored four runs in 18 innings.

And obviously, John Schneider wanted to stir his soup: Anthony Santander, who missed the last match, will bat fourth this evening.

Addison Barger goes down to seventh place. Ernie Clement finds himself in eighth place, while Davis Schneider is not in the starting lineup.

Santander isn't having a great run (he has a .462 ERA so far), but we know he's a guy with power to spare. Schneider's objective is clear: he wants to give Santander the chance to hit profitable long balls.

Because even if the numbers are not reassuring, Santander has good batting times these days. It seems to be about to unlock.

The Jays manager makes no secret of it: he wants his club to find a way to unlock and score a lot of points. He wants to see more uppercuts and less jabs, to use his words.

It will also be necessary to monitor whether Santander will be able to hold his end defensively, he who will be in right field (while George Springer will be the designated hitter).

But with the Jays' offense turning neutral, Schneider stirs his soup and uses his joker in Santander. Let's see if this will turn the tide in the series, now.
