Jameson Taillon agrees with the Cubs

Have you ever been told that the launcher market is currently excellent? After all, gunners manage to extract large sums of money.

A club like the Phillies, for example, awarded Taijuan Walker $72 million, which is a lot of money for a guy like him.

The Cubs, on the other hand, made a signing in the same waters, but with a pitcher who I think is more reliable than Walker.

Jameson Taillon, on the basis of a $68 million four-year contract, is leaving for Chicago.

In 2022, in his second year in the Bronx, Taillon had a 3.91 ERA in 177.1 innings pitched.

The pitcher will therefore continue his career in the division where it all started for him. It will be remembered that before being traded to the Yankees, he played in Pittsburgh.

This is the second major signing for the Cubs yesterday, who signed Cody Bellinger to a one-year contract.

Obviously, the Cubs do not want to rebuild for years and the club intends to be more competitive in 2023. Could a big shortstop player (or several?) land in the City of Winds? It’s possible.

But it will mostly take launchers.

The Cubs were the most aggressive team for Taillon. How will the Yankees (and any clubs that want pitchers) retaliate?

  • The Phillies continue to improve.
  • Willson Contreras is a guy in demand.
