Francisco Lindor still has faith in his team

We are only in the early stages of a long season, yet in some markets things are moving faster. This is between the case at the New York Mets.

With a payroll of $375 million, expectations are high, very high. But for the moment, they are not fulfilled and the supporters are starting to get impatient.

On the player side, however, the story is different, with good reason. There is no question of pressing the panic button, and Francisco Lindor knows it very well.

We are still in a very good position. We’ve won five games, and 85% of our team aren’t feeling their best yet. Obviously, we would like to have a better record. But I know for a fact that Scherzer is not yet at the top, just like Carrasco. Our hitters, myself included, we’re not there yet.

Lindor is right, some haven’t gotten their bearings yet, especially in the starting rotation. But, even if the Mets will have to fight until the end against the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies, there is no need to worry. Not at the moment, anyway…

On the other hand, don’t put your head in the sand either. There are concerns in Queens, and they will need to be addressed if nothing changes in the coming weeks.

It’s a safe bet that owner Steve Cohen will do the necessary when the time comes.
