Four Marlins starters available for trade

The Miami Marlins have a desperate need for the outfield, and they have for a long time. From one season to another, it is expected that the Florida formation will strike a blow on the transaction market in order to make up for this shortcoming.

For the moment, nothing major has been done at this level. But that could change in the coming weeks. Indeed, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Marlins have made four of their starting pitchers available to other MLB organizations in order to complete a trade.

In addition to Pablo Lopez, who had already been offered for moons, Edward Cabrera, Trevor Rogers and Jesus Luzardo could be sacrificed. Only the National League’s last Cy Young Trophy recipient, Sandy Alcantara, seems untouchable, and one can understand.

Lopez will likely be the most eye-catching of the lot, followed closely by Cabrera, strong from his six years in control. For the other two protagonists, some question marks could chill a team that wants to acquire the services of a quality gunner without having to rack their brains.

Among potential dance partners, the San Diego Padres and Pittsburgh Pirates top the list, with at least one available outfielder in Trent Grisham and Bryan Reynolds, respectively.

It’s not guaranteed that Miami will get an outfielder back from one of their starters, since it was often heard between the branches at the last trade deadline that they were also interested in second baseman Gleyber Torres of the New York Yankees.

However, if the staff of the Marlins plays its cards right, it is an outfielder who must come with the young formation.
