Édouard Julien will make his MLB debut this afternoon

Just yesterday, we learned that Quebecer Édouard Julien was going to be recalled by the Minnesota Twins. It’s now done.

But that’s not all. The second baseman will make his MLB debut this afternoon, as the Twins host the Chicago White Sox at 1:10 p.m. He will wear number 47, the old number of Corey Koskie, another Canadian.

For this occasion, Julien will hit eighth in the offensive lineup and play at second base.

The main interested party therefore takes the place of Joey Gallo, who has been placed on the injured list for at least ten days, the movement of personnel being retroactive to April 8.

However, it’s a safe bet that if Julien continues to have the great batting approach he has had for a long time, he will stay in major league baseball for a much longer period.

The 23-year-old had a strong spring camp, batting for a .348 batting average and adding three long drives in just eight games. He was also one of the best players in the World Baseball Classic with his OPS of 1.821.

In eight games at the AAA level, the MLB top-100 prospect batted .276 and hit two home runs.

So, on your screens this afternoon to see him at work in the show!
