Don Mattingly joins group aiming to bring baseball to Nashville

As you may know, the City of Nashville appears to have a head start in MLB’s eyes for a potential expansion process.

Yes, Nashville is ahead of Montreal in the eyes of MLB in terms of expansion.

The group to bring an expansion club is led by Dave Stewart. In the past, Dave Dombrowski had a role as a special adviser, but he left it to take the position of president of baseball operations for the Phillies.

He shouldn’t regret it.

But now the group aiming to bring a club to Nashville has just found a new adviser to support the group.

We are talking about Don Mattingly, former star of the New York Yankees and former manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers as well as the Miami Marlins.

He says he is very happy to join the Nashville group.

Note, however, that this will not prevent him from working as a bench coach for the Toronto Blue Jays, a position he accepted a few weeks ago.
