David Ortiz says Mets should offer Aaron Judge $50 million a year

At the moment, Aaron Judge has the lead in the playoffs and that’s normal. After all, he wants to beat the Astros in order to make the World Series for the first time.

But after that, he will go to the bank to get his due. This is normal since he is a star who has just experienced, in New York, one of the most beautiful seasons in the history of baseball.

Will the Yankees offer him more than other teams? A lot of people in the business seem to think that’s not the case and that the best deals will come from elsewhere.

That said, what margin will make quitting worth it? The question is valid.

All that to say that the big teams will make offers to the Judge. We don’t know if the Mets will make it, though. Why?

Because Steve Cohen has good connections with the Yankees right now. Because Jacob deGrom, who could ask for $50 million a year, also needs to be resigned.

But that, David Ortiz has nothing to do.

The former Red Sox (rivals of the Yankees) believes that the Mets, who do not really have a monetary limit, should make an offer of $ 50 million per year (over five or six years) to the outfielder.

He believes this shouldn’t come at the expense of deGrom, but that Judge would be perfect for the Mets to take to the next level.

He didn’t suggest the name of the Red Sox, who are struggling to afford their own stars…

Would Judge, who can take pressure from New York, be a good candidate for the Mets? He would be hated in the Bronx, though…

Personally, I believe he will stay with the Yankees and I believe the Mets will not give away two such big contracts at the same time.
