It is obviously the season of contract extensions for young players.
After all, in the last 24 hours, Keibert Ruiz signed a $50 million contract with the Washington Nationals. The club, in fact, bought him three years of autonomy.
And now the Diamondbacks have imitated the Nationals.
Corbin Carroll, soon to become a star in Major League Baseball, has signed an eight-year contract valued at $111 million. A team option year ($23M) is also included in 2021.
In doing so, he becomes the youngest drafted player to sign a contract worth more than $100 million, which is no small feat. It’s a great achievement… for the DBacks.
