Carlos Correa: Radio silence isn’t a bad thing for the Mets

For several days, we have been on hold in the Carlos Correa file with the Mets. It’s known that Steve Cohen’s club aren’t exactly happy with Correa’s medical tests.

Like the Giants were, basically.

For a few days, however, there has been radio silence in the file. We haven’t really heard anything since we learned that the two clubs were trying to work out an agreement.

If we put ourselves in the shoes of Mets fans, we can understand the uncertainty. After all, the other teams are starting to talk to Correa again and he’s got a little more than a half chance of staying in New York.

But OK. What you need to know is that the shortstop (or third baseman) wants to sign with the Mets and he would like to get along.

And public radio silence is a good sign. That means there are negotiations in place between Scott Boras and the New York Mets organization.

The fact of not negotiating in the public square also shows that Steve Cohen has understood things. Remember that the teams are told not to comment on the signatures before they are official. And Cohen, hours after Correa’s signature was unveiled on Twitter, was quick to comment on it.

Will this be fixed soon? To have.

  • What should the Red Sox do?
  • Will the Astros keep their youngsters?
  • Tommy La Stella DFA by the Giants.
