Carlos Correa is tailor-made for the Yankees, believes Cameron Maybin

Now that the MLB labor dispute is (finally) behind us, we can now focus on the main component of the offseason: free agents.

And with training camps currently getting underway, we can expect a lot of action in the very near future.

Obviously, at the heart of this action, there will be Carlos Correa, possibly the most enticing player on the free agent market today.

The shortstop will certainly be courted by a multitude of teams, and the Yankees will undoubtedly be part of this race.

And if we rely on Cameron Maybin, who wore the Yankees uniform in 2019 and who will work for YES Network in 2022, Correa is tailor-made to evolve in such a market.

According to Maybin, Correa is not afraid of pressure and his strong personality could make him an ideal player for a big market. A market where the pressure is immense, that reminds me of the Bronx.

Correa is a flamboyant player who is not afraid to be challenged. He was at the heart of several “controversies”, but continued to offer a high level of play, both offensively and defensively.

Coming back to fit potential with the Yankees, there is obviously an interest in baseball. After all, Correa is one of the best players in the league, and even though Anthony Volpe and Oswald Peraza are hot prospects at shortstop, Correa would improve the Yankees drastically.

And financially, the idea also stands. After all, when you look at the results of the vote on the last collective agreement, you realize that the Yankees players are among the four “teams of players” who voted against the MLB proposal.

Even more interesting: Gerrit Cole and Zack Britton, two members of the Yankees who are part of the subcommittee of the MLBPAalso voted against.

Did these three, much like the Mets and their three representatives, vote against it because they knew their team wanted to spend a lot of money and that the luxury tax tiers could put sticks on them in the wheels? Possible.

Both personality-wise, baseball-wise, and financially, the Yankees seem to be a fit perfect for Correa. However, they will not be the only ones to give him an eye: it will therefore be necessary to scratch the bottom of the drawers to encourage him to settle in the Bronx.
