Carlos Correa had already started shopping for a house in San Francisco

The caution of the Giants in the Carlos Correa file is really talking about at the moment. Why?

But on the other hand, we are talking about a financial commitment that was $350 million over 13 years. Correa was reportedly in the San Francisco area until age 41.

It’s too much.

You will tell me that the Giants had only not to sign him at the base, which is true. But these are market prices and many stars this year have signed such a contract.

I really like what the NBA is doing, which is limiting the length of contracts. You don’t see huge 10-year contracts and the teams are not financially “prisoners”.

This incentivizes them to give bigger contracts, as it is short term. And star players are always paid market price.

But OK. We’re in a world where guys in their twenties are giving themselves 10, 11, 12 or 13 year contracts, taking them to the other side of their thirties.

And that, the Giants will have to adapt or less worry about the medical check-ups.
