Alex Cora reportedly bragged about stealing the 2017 World Series

The Houston Astros did little to erase the 2017 signal theft scandal by winning the World Series last November.

However, it is worth looking at once more. Indeed, according to Evan Drellich’s new book, Alex Cora bragged to members of the 2018 Boston Red Sox organization that the Astros stole the World Series from the Los Angeles Dodgers the previous year.

Are we really surprised coming from him? Not really…

The author wrote that Cora and Craig Bjornson, who served as the relief bullpen coach for Houston in 2017, sometimes bragged about the signal-stealing scheme the Astros developed on drunken nights.

We stole this (insert explicit word beginning with the letter F) World Series!

Drellich also included the following quote from an anonymous 2018 Red Sox member.

We knew the Astros stole signals because Alex told us. He said when they played the Dodgers, they already knew what everyone was throwing before they even pitched.

Notice to interested parties, the book “Winning Fixes Everything: How Baseball’s Brightest Minds Created Sports’ Biggest Mess” published by HarperCollins will go on sale on February 14th.
