The Blue Jays, for a few weeks, kept Alek Manoah in the AAA for rehabilitation. The club ended time before having to make a decision on its future.
But now it was taken.
Blue Jays had to end his rehabilitation process by leaving him the list of 60 days injured. The club did it … while officially giving it to the AAA.
Before, he was there for rehabilitation purposes. Now he's just a minor player who does not accumulate service time in the major.
That said, to bring him back into the alignment of 40 players (a long -term injured player can get out), the club had to get some people out of his alignment of 40 players.
And it was Orelvis Martinez who received. He was appointed for assignment.
The club did not call on Martinez, who has not had a good season at the bottom in 2025, since he was suspended for doping in 2024. He is no longer the same player and the former hope had no future in Toronto. What position would he play, Anyway?
It is therefore a descent into hell for the old leading hope. Another club will trust him?
